Who We Are
Sphera Energy is a clean energy platform based in Italy and focused on delivering utility-scale Energy Storage assets that enable the decarbonization of electrical grids. Founded by a team of Renewable industry veterans, Sphera Energy benefits from decades of combined entrepreneurial and corporate experience in delivering investment grade projects and growing clean energy businesses in Italy and Globally.
The Challenge
The transition of electricity networks to net zero is underway, but a lot remains to be done. While Solar PV plants and Wind farms will increasingly generate clean power that displaces fossil fuels, advanced network infrastructure projects will provide the flexibility that enables the grid system to remain in balance, cope with intermittency, and drive towards complete decarbonization. What our grids need is secure and reliable Renewable baseload, which will only be possible through Energy Storage.
Vision and Values
We believe that economic development and energy availability will soon be decoupled from fossil fuels, pollution and environmental degradation. We are against energy waste, but we believe in energy democracy and ample availability of clean power. We support distributed generation and energy independence. We are against reliance on fossil fuel imports. We pride ourselves on trust, integrity.
Mission
At Sphera Energy we identify, develop, finance and implement Energy Storage projects that drive decarbonization of the electricity network. We work with landowners, communities, industry leading technology providers and advisors to ensure our projects meet the strictest criteria of sophisticated international investors and funders. We differentiate ourselves by managing the entire development lifecycle from the initial concept to delivery of shovel ready investable assets.
Sustainability
Sustainability is the cornerstone of everything we do. This goes all the way from our fundamental mission to decarbonize the grid, to our strict business ethics code. It manifests itself in our curated approach to the environmental integration of our projects: from visual and noise mitigations to biodiversity preservation, we leave no stone unturned. Communication is always key. We operate locally with landowners and communities to ensure all stakeholders have a say.

Sphera Energy is backed by Combigas Group, a long standing energy sector group based in the north of Italy, in Emilia Romagna, with +300 mEUR of yearly turnover.
